Long long ago, magic was the tradition and
there lived a human named Lee who was an animal care taker by occupation. He
had many animals for care taking and had an ox of his own. This ox was not an
ordinary one because it could fly.
One day Lee met a beautiful girl named
Jeen, the seventh daughter of the moon goddess who came to visit the earth just
for fun.
Looking at the hard work of Lee she was
impressed.
Jeen soon fell in love with Lee and secretly
got down from heaven and married him.
Unfortunately, the mother of Jeen, the
Goddess Moon soon came to know that her daughter married a guy who was not of
his standards.
She was furious and said, “My loving
daughter, you were here to know what the earth is like and not for acting
immature and spoiling the name of our rich and royal family! You have taken a
wrong step and for this you will be punished. Make sure you get back with me to the place
you belong.”
Lee filled with grieve saw this happening
and could not let his wife go away so easily.
Seeing Lee’s misery his ox, the magical
creature decided to help him follow them.
He collected lots of clouds under it and
used it’s powers to fly up!
When Lee was about to catch up to his wife...The
Moon Goddess removed her hair pin and splashes it across the sky creating the
Milky Way, which separates Lee and Jeen.
The milky way was very vast and lee could not pass it!
Moved by their love and devotion, the
group of magpies created a bridge for the couple to meet each other.
The Goddess was also touched with their
love and finally after many requests... she allowed them to meet on the seventh of the
seven lunar month every year which because today’s 7th date/7th
month.
On this it is said that the people looking
at the sky can see two stars very close to each other which signifies the love
Lee and for Jeen.
