Generation Gap

Have you ever tried listening to music with your elderly people?

Have you ever tried explaining the elders that it was not just you who had done the mistake but also others? 

This is the “generation gap”.  

   

We cannot take a single side because at this situation both the people are right as they were grown and built with those teachings.

Your elders may like a movie and you won’t, they may like classical music but you would not be able to tolerate it too, they may follow principles which according to you do not work in the “cool” way!

What is generation gap?

A generation gap or generational gap, is a difference of opinions between one generation and another regarding beliefs, politics, or values. 

In today's usage, "generation gap" often refers to a perceived gap between younger people and their parents and/or grandparents.

E.g: Your grandparent will recommend you to be back home by 8 pm and on the other hand your parents may recommend you to be back by 9pm

* This is because during the years your grandparents were young, they were taught to be back before 8.

“There is a thin line between the two generations which is of teaching”

Your elders would tell you to get off phones as they had limited use of mobiles at that time.

They would suggest you to chat less because they believed in talking in person.

They would not let you be lost in the music world during a travel and would ask you to communicate and have a look at the nature. The reason is because all this can be done when at your homes but cannot experience this in the concrete jungle in which we live where we have adopted the living of both i.e. humans and the animals.

But in the logic of the future child…

“We cannot keep looking at these green grasses and trees when we can see the whole world just at the touch of the button.”

Now, this is the technology which has become the obstacle between the two generation gaps.

Technology has developed allot and is going to develop in the later years but excessive use of technology creates great problems in our living.

For the young generation:

It may be very difficult for you to bind to the principles of the older generation as you are surrounded by the influences of wrong people. As not working as the new generation will make no image of you in this new era but you can give it a try to reduce this gap between the elders by including and making them know what this new generation wants!

For the older generation:

 

There is no ideology which is wrong but the principles that you have been following cannot be the same as the younger generation has too many influences. You can reduce the gap by having a talk with the young generation and allowing them to an extent.
