Pro's at procrastination!

Do you procrastinate?
Was that even a question?  Find out, how some of my pals do! You would surely relate!🐒🐒

  •    How does Anaya Mazumdar  procrastinate:

DISCLAIMER

I am neither defending this activity, nor promoting it. It is just a humble attempt at trying to dilute the negative connotation attached to this word and maybe looking at it with a different and lighter perspective.

So I love to sing, I love to read, I love to write and there are many more such “love to’s”, all of them requiring some amount of time commitment.

The last word in the previous line is such that gives almost all youth the shivers – commitment. Because commitment is something which is easier said than done, right? Like okay, I go ahead and make a promise to somebody with so much assurance of the task being completed on time that my inner Salman Khan from ‘Wanted’ comes out.  And then I realize I am forgetting one of my favorites “love to’s” called Procrastination. This is my favorite hobby as it needs the least amount of practice, it just comes so naturally. Parents and teachers think that we as students are fools to do everything ‘last minute’ but they are missing the rush we experience at this seventh hour stress.

Okay, now I cut to the chase.
Procrastinating gets me, every single time, like a hungry puppy waiting for treats. I feed this puppy and all it does is asks for more. And puppies are cute right? How can you deny such angels food? How can you shoo the poor little procrastination puppy away?

There is no doubt about the fact that productivity takes a huge hit when you procrastinate. It’s like digging your own grave as you let precious time flow out of your hands. Had I been running the nation, our economic efficiency would’ve been nowhere. However, there is one fact missing here, one element that is undermined. Spontaneity.
That ‘last minute’ pressure owing to procrastination helps me expand my creative limits infinitely. I sometimes wonder at the capacity of our human brains to create a masterpiece at the spur of a moment from minimal available resources (What we Indians colloquially call  jugaad). So maybe my nation wouldn’t have had flourishing banks but would’ve probably had households for production units (because I’d be lazy enough to set up industries) thus making numerous Antillas.
So here’s how procrastination works for me :
Procrastination → less productivity

↓
But spontaneity
 â†“
So Jugaad
 â†“
Therefore something out of the box.

  • How does Bhavi Mehta experiences procrastination:

“Give me half hour I will get the work done.”
“Sorry, give me an hour more and I will give it to you”.
“Can I give it to you by evening?”
“By 12 I will mail it to you”
“Tomorrow morning, we will do it together”

Don’t we all do this? Like I always do this.  Of course we want to get the things done ASAP but if we do it that will stay lazy? Who will be a couch potato and sit on the bed all day doing nothing?

As we sit down dedicated like never and determined to complete what we think is a work load suddenly we realize,” where is my water bottle?” so I get up to quench my thirst, constipated since ages water gives me pressure like never and loo becomes my favorite place to hang out. Feeling like a feather I sit back again to get my work done. *ding dong* “hello beta! Some paratha?” those sparling eyes and the sweetest smile how can anyone refuse that? Of course I will have those parathas loaded with makhan.
Now I sit back again. But nothing strikes me so I just sit there staring at my beautifully painted walls. How did I never notice that my walls are sea pistachio bottle deep green color?

  •  How does Jhanvi Adatia experiences procrastination:

“How to not procrastinate” I typed after wasting 362825382 days of my vacation which I could’ve used to build a new nation, write a trilogy and do all the things I wanted to do if I hadn’t, chosen to practice my dance choreography to nimbooda for exactly 56 days just in case I may need it.
If only I had walked the miles I had scrolled on a magically operated energized piece of metal that acts as a toxic boyfriend trying to separate me and my girls; I might as well have had a booty like Beyoncé.
The spiral road, my friends, what they show in inspirational pictures that comes in between you and your success isn’t people putting you down; we have to admit its procrastination.
The dog that ate our homework does exist, that dog, is my ability to procrastinate.
Let’s get to the sunny side of this term, procrastination has actually lead to brilliant things
Imagine would there be any wonderful memes on this planet if some lazy butt hadn’t ignored his actual work to procrastinate and update his social skills by writing hilarious things above pictures?
Or like would people ever discover their hidden talents if you hadn’t procrastinated or found a fandom that totally destroys your soul but you love it.

  • How do I manipulate with time:

With a lot of portion over my head, a heck lot of deals left to crack, with a planar over the table and a determined mind, I promise myself to just ‘have a peek’ to the social world. But the miles I scroll over that phone, the updates never end.
I always make a false assurance to myself that I did well today, and this was the only content I could cope at the time given. But not missing the part, I add, “Tomorrow, we will achieve more!”
Tomorrow, which is a Bermuda triangle where 99% percent of all human productivity is stored.
This world is magical, where one can get frustrated over self! I throw my phone forcing the data button off with a little promise to not touch the gorilla glass for at least an hour, or it would turn my life as a  Jurassic park where my dad is the Godzilla. Like the reference, my approach was confusing.
Those are the best 15 minutes of my study!
But as the phones look at me with a grief that it could not waste my time, that shiny screen loses its shine; it pops up with SMS, showing me its loyalty. I own a pet.
I call it a “Pee break” where all of my pals missed my presence! Half of them created a score of 250 over a group, few loved my display, and handful wanted my help and Holy Jesus! Had that crush to come online right now?
“Manav, do you want to look rude? Do you really want to ignore all of your loved ones and turn a loner for life? HOW INSENSITIVE ARE YOU”, said my conscience.
And I replied,
I did well today, and this was the only content I could cope at the time given.

  • How does Pooja Agrawal manipulate with time:

Procrastination is popularly called a vice, uncannily possessed by a majority of the world's population with the ability to single - handedly destroy their future. I would give you the exact definition, but I'm too lazy to look it up; maybe another day.
Considering that procrastination is basic human nature, you'd think that we would have found some sort of explanation, and hopefully, a "cure to this unproductive vice". Scientists, however, attribute this as a failure to maintain self-control and identify our feelings. I simply attribute it to laziness, and a somewhat misplaced sense of complacency that repeatedly assures us we're smart enough to finish any task just in time.
And you know what? More often than not, we are. I don't see why procrastination is necessarily a bad thing. Most of my best ideas have come when I'm caving under pressure, itching to meet a deadline.
A staggering 57% of people agree with me, according to a recent study. A lot of them have gone on record to assert that their last minute pressure enhances their productivity. Some even go as far as to say that they are never even able to give an average performance when expected to finish a task well before time.
Maybe procrastination isn't the best trait to have in the long run, but I say if it works for you, you keep it. Not counting this as a vice is in my opinion like supporting pineapple on pizza. A lot of you will disagree with me, but those who don't, will understand exactly where I'm coming from.
So, procrastinate. Or don't. Who cares as long as you get your job done on time? And at the end of the day, isn't that what we aim for? To please the wretched mistress that is time. To keep her in check, to control her, and if possible, be a step ahead of her.
Conclusively, I would suggest you do what works for you. Time and tide wait for none; early birds and procrastinators alike.
P.S - I just used the part about pineapples on pizza to prove my point. I think it's an abomination, and pizza privileges should be revoked for anyone who thinks fruit goes hand in hand with a slice of Italian heaven.

  • This is How Preya Mehta figured a solution:

My story of procrastination is not based on how I fail to follow my schedule and target every day but how this stops me from being a better person. I’m sure, regardless of the age all of us know our flaws and can exactly determine the part which we need to work upon to be a better person. There are these insightful nights and drastic realizations on the occurrence of something wrong that throw light on how we are doing something’s WRONG. Every time that I think about karma and one’s wellbeing, I figure out several things that are yet to be ticked in the bucket list of being a good person. Being a good person is what you want mentally, after seeing the faux facade of show, pomp, money and looks and there has not been a single day when I haven’t attempted to be one. When you procrastinate over work, you have other days to complete it, but when you procrastinate over your conscious.. trust me, your opportunity is lost!
It is quoted that ‘opportunity strikes only once’ however I beg to differ. My idea of a successful living includes finding, hunting and grabbing the opportunity rather than waiting for it to strike and here is the point where my procrastination attitude sets me back. The world is constantly updating and upgrading itself and my indolence on the other hand is keeping me away from that ideal image of mine. It is simply restricting my potential and caging my talent and light. One day, I attempted to follow my day’s duty with zealous determination and I couldn’t be happier. The feeling of contentment is worth cherishing and that motivates me to hustle for the best. There lies a path that has to be walked upon before this long preaching, but I’m glad to say that the journey has started❀
Do we have a solution?
I think yes! Sheer determination and motivation is the solution to this problem. We have motioned ourselves to be the way we are because of our repeat cycle of actions, but now is the time to believe in the possible change. Yes, it is as possible to tick all to do’s as it is possible to wake up by your first alarm. Utmost WILL and WANT should dominate over your need, and that’s when you’ll realize your truest capabilities. Believe, Hustle and Conquer

Students V/S Teachers

I have worked on this idea for a very long time to help us forge a bond between teachers and students and strengthen it. The reason is that students spend most of their time with teachers. It could be during tuitions, in school or college or in other places and this is how teachers play the most important role in our lives.

Before you scroll down, this blog post has:

1) A student’s view, stating problems against teachers.

2) The teacher’s opinion of the problem.

(This is not a blame game or an attempt to hurt any teacher’s feelings. It is just meant to present the problem that we never address.)

Dear teachers,

I attend classes only with the intention to learn some new concepts but as a science student, my world only revolves around physics, chemistry and biology which are never fun. So I always, keep me and my friend circle entertained which is not always liked by teachers. My entertainment includes, finding faults in everything, laughing out loud and making very creepy noises in the class and being the luckiest as I'm the tallest among all the students, I always get caught. This has my name highlighted in the black list on number one. Similarly, I have always been the kid sent to the corner to decrease havoc in the class. This zones me out of the learning atmosphere which kills my interest.

I fail to complete my homework, fail to soak concepts at the same moment and this somehow makes my professors lose hope on me. But the inner me, always pleads you to pay a little more attention over me, so that I work harder and not give up. But few top scorers steal my opportunity.

I often find mistakes in the guides, also notice teachers explaining wrongly or giving irrelevant examples but they hold a strong belief that the teacher can NEVER be wrong when objected. A teacher could be wrong in a concept or a suggestion as students are. That is totally fine. But the truth must be approved accepted that teachers can also be wrong, sometimes.

Not every chapter is interesting and as a result we students hold high expectations for you all to make it creative with a pinch of humor and bag full of examples, so that the concept interests us.

I’m sure our problems have solutions which lie in your hands.

-Student

A response by the teacher:

Dear students,

Teachers, like all of you, are not Gods, however much they feel like it, or pretend to be. We are fallible, we make mistakes, we are ignorant sometimes. Which is fine. The problem arises when we fail to a) see our mistakes b) acknowledge them c) work to correct, or minimize them.

For a student, who is taught by a teacher once in the day, during a certain lecture, or period, the lecture or teacher might be either boring or interesting, depending on her equation with the teacher, the subject, or her state of mind at the time. But a teacher, who has to teach the same subject/topic/experiment in a class of 120 students on an average, every day, and sometimes, every lecture, life becomes monotonous and sometimes intolerable. This kind of repetition induces boredom, but the teacher cannot afford to exhibit that. So when the teacher comes to class and meets un appreciative, unruly, in disciplined students, it requires all her self-control and considerable acting skills to teach for 40 minutes, and at the same time maintaining class discipline. At the end of the time, she is completely physically drained and mentally exhausted.

Teaching is a vocation. It is not a job. It is not enough to know the subject you teach. You need to LOVE the kids you teach, every one of them, and treat them IMPARTIALLY. The mischief-maker in class is probably crying out for your attention. The child who does poorly in class might be having a physical or mental inability to perform well, or is completely stressed out about something. A teacher has the Herculean task of being aware of everything and everyone in the class and must have the ability to read the faces of her pupils and come to the right conclusions.

A teacher also needs to be honest enough, and secure enough to admit that a) she has made a mistake, academic or otherwise b) that she doesn't know something, but she will find out and inform them later

Unfortunately, the mad scramble to finish the syllabus and the insistence in some academic institutions to subscribe to certain kinds or patterns of behaviour stresses out both students and teachers and do not let them interact naturally. The sheer numbers of students in a class also inhibit a more friendly approach to teaching and learning.

But in her own way, in spite of the limitations, a teacher can, and should make a difference to students' lives. Like everything in life, a lot of love and a little imposition of discipline goes a long way to make the life of both students and teachers easier.

Together, we can make a difference.

Have a wonderful day.

Just a Vintage Soul..

The World is all about development but what did we develop from? This world has us, and we have a small world in this world and in this lovely small world, we have a soft heart for something. What soothes us the best, are vintage things. Development is the boon, but peace is at the start.

“Vintage means pre-loved”

Ever thought why do people get fascinated by the things existing from the past? Why does Bollywood re-launch the same old songs in the latest movies and these songs go hit? Why are the ‘current’ trends, actually the fashion from the 90’s?

The answer to this is, vintage was the jackpot, and vintage was the age of creative minds and the development was the medium for the jackpot to meet the crowd. That’s how development acts as the bridge for the people to meet the olden times.

Not everything that existed in the olden times was correct, but a bunch, handful of things was worth respect!

It holds the simple fact that our education system provides us stories of Romeo and Juliet, Merchant of Venice as it holds the status, the firm over language, and the beauty of old English.

With an example, my few handpicked songs seem to have very deep meanings which are from the 90’s

1]   Dil deke dekho (1951)

Dil deke dekho,

Dil deke dekho ji,

Dil lene waalon dil dena Seekho ji

Which beautifully means:-

Learn to give your heart for people, and the ones who love to have others love you, learn to love back.

2)Dharam Karam (1975)

Ek din bik jayega mati ke mol
Jag me rah jayege pyare tere bol

Which deeply means:-

There is going to be a day when you will be sold at a price of clay,

All that will stay, are the words you say!

In conclusion to this post, there would be less competition, less complicated things, easier and better ways of confessions, easy ways to get over differences, better loyalty, honesty, respect, and the fact that life is more than likes on Facebook and Instagram which would cause less of destructions.

We are very egoistic about our present, our development, too sour to believe that we could only develop on things that the people from the golden days started! So let’s not judge the people who still like to listen to old songs, which still have a collection of black and white photographs, the ones who still write a diary and the most important, those who value people more than leisure.

When I got cloned.

Recently I came across this new term called a ‘Fake profile’ where my ‘Facebook’ just got converted into ‘Fakebook’ and this experience was worth sharing. I bet on a nice laughter.

It was the end of the day when my phone rings with three miss calls which seemed urgent. I call back and all I get to hear is,

-Oh my God! Manav you know what?

-What?

-You have your fake account on Facebook.

-Did I become so famous?

(breaks me in between)

-With the exact same name. Shit. Manav, you got to do something now Go check. Please. Fast.

(Checks on Facebook and finds a very ‘unprofessionally’ copied account of mine with the same display picture and a shitty caption.)

(It was so fake that Barbie could be jealous of it!)

(Scrolls)

With a lovely post, a chinni picture of me dedicating my love in ‘English’ not recognised by Google.inc
I’ll show you my picture here.

But what happened behind the scenes was amazing.
So I sent this message saying, my account has been copied so please report the fake one, instead, I get laughing emoji all over my chats.

So after lots of request and people calming over the stupid post, it got deleted but.

My friends then took the report button too seriously and, instead of just reporting that account also reported my original account.

My pyaara original account.

And this was out of the world.
(one of my friend actually did this)
